We're In ....

After a long two days, we are almost unpacked. Still waiting for our new bed suite to be delivered (it's booked for Wednesday) before we can finish the master.

Internet is painfully slow - using a 3G USB modem atm. Telstra is supposed to be connecting the phone line on Monday - not sure how long we'll have to wait for internet.

Dining room looks so bare, need to go shopping for a new table. I'm thinking 8 seater, square, light wood - nothing that looks too country.

I'm still pinching myself - after over a year we are finally in.

ps - loving gas heating, so toasty and warm!!

Keys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After a long wait, we finally have them - here they are unlocking our door for the very first time  :) .....

Settlement Booked .....

Tomorrow morning we are doing our pre-settlement inspection, then just after lunch we'll head to Norwest to handover the cheque and collect the keys!!

I can't believe after more than a year it's finally happening!

Hopefully only another 2 weeks to go ....

My dad happened to be driving by the house today and our SS was there, so he stopped for a chat - Which worked out well as he didn't answer his phone when Rich tried to call him 3 times today ...


He said that it should only be another 2 weeks until it's all done:

* Waiting on an engineering report about the bricks overhanging the slab at the back of the house

* The Painter is scheduled to come on Tuesday

* The Tiler has been and finished all the touch ups needed

* The Termite reticulation pipes will be re-layed properly next week hopefully

* No date for the driveway as yet - It needs to dry completely after the small amount of rain over the past few days before they can colour seal it

Argh ..... I just want to move already!

4 weeks and counting ...

Still no word on handover - more than 4 weeks after PCI!

To say I'm over it is an understatment. Oh well, hopefully not too much longer to go ...

3 Weeks post PCI and still no Handover ...

Well it will be 3 weeks tomorrow since our PCI and still no word on Handover.

The carpet was installed on Friday, but no signs of the other defect rectifications yet! :(

Long time no post .....

Well I just realised it's been almost a month since my last post .... lots has happened ...

Driveway was laid and before I got a chance to see it some stupid dog run across 3 out of the 4 sections leaving a trail of pawprints behind. EBH seem to have some difficulties fixing this and at the moment it looks like S&*^!!!

On Wed 9th we had our PCI, then a few days later we arranged an Independent building Inspection, even though I was told by our SS that we were wasting our money ... the report we received back seemed to prove otherwise ... 10 pages of defects.

Most of the defects are minor, but there are few more significant things, like obviously the above mentioned driveway, a section of the bricks overhanging the slab, a downlight positioned way too close to a gas line in the roof, our reticulated termite system being exposed.

After our PCI we were told handover should be booked within 2 - 3 weeks depending on the findings of the Tyrells inspection EBH arranges .... we are 1.5 weeks after PCI and still no word yet on handover, so watch this space!
